Human body is made of over 30 trillion cells. But it all starts with a single cell, a fertilized egg. In order to have the general human function, there has to be a set of laws to follow in the genes. Because human body is made according to the set of laws, it is not surprising to find mathematical beauty in human body.
You can see traces of trying to reveal some of these laws in classical acupuncture texts. The meridian system and acupuncture points are the result of these attempts. But, they are not perfect. There are many inconsistencies. Acupuncture based on the meridian system sometimes work and sometimes don't. Its reproducibility greatly depends on acupuncturists. If this is so, it can never be a science.
The tension theory of SEIDO acupuncture was found when simply examining human body functions without being caught by the meridian system (which is hard for acupuncturists who have studied it for years).
Explanation about the tension theory:
The Tension Theory(1)~Point & Line~
The Tension Theory(2)~One-way linkage & Two-way linkage~
The Tension Theory(3)~3 Disadvantages Of Local Acupuncture~
You can observe mathematical beauty in human body clearly when looking through this tension theory. For example, there are acupuncture points between each metacarpals. These points are effective for releasing upper back tensions. The points in upper back linked to each points between metacarpals (1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd, etc.) are aligned in the mathematical order. As long as the point location is correct, it is highly reproducible. Needless to say the point location is critical.
Yesterday, I woke up with neck pain. When I looked upward, I felt pain in the specific area between shoulder blades. I needled a point between 3rd and 4th metacarpals. I was able to look upward without pain immediately after needling the point.
If I felt the pain in slightly higher or lower area, I would have used different points.
Human body is beautifully designed according to a set of certain laws. By understanding these laws, the potential of acupuncture expands greatly.
