<Treatment Progress at the fertility clinic>
・Started treatment at a fertility clinic in 2013.
・After 3 AIH attempts, proceeded to ICSI considering her and her husband’s age (in his 50’s).
・By the end of 2014, attempted 6 embryo transfers but never conceived.
・Although doctors managed to retrieve eggs every cycles,embryos often stopped growing before they become blastocycsts.
・Because of that, the last two transfers were fresh embryo transfers.

<Progress>
Mainly treated the blood stagnation and kidney deficiency.
Gave dietary advice and moxa home work.

1st Treatment(d1): Came during her lunch break and her coworkers noticed her better facial complexion after the treatment.
2nd Treatment (d11): Gave a pre-ovulation acupuncture treatment.

IVF Schedule:
d17 ➔ egg retrieval
d19 ➔ Fresh embryo transfer

3rd Treatment(d22): Gave an acupuncture treatment to help embryo to be implanted.
4th Treatment: HCG230, Gave an acupuncture treatment to help maintain her pregnancy.

Continued bi-weekly acupuncture treatment until her due date.
During her pregnancy, acupuncture treatments were given for morning sickness, sciatica, headache, groin pain, sacro illiac pain, leg edema, and inducing labor.

<Implication>
She came to our clinic just before her final ICSI attempt.The acupuncture treatments did help reducing her stress and improve blood circulation and all, but the positive outcome was the result of what she had been doing for a few years. Many couples choose acupuncture treatments as their last resorts and come just before egg retrieval cycles or embryo transfers. However, we recommend to combine acupuncture treatments with treatments at infertility clinics at earlier stages. There are millions of things that acupuncture can assist you in preparing for pregnancy and giving a child birth.
