Back in Japan, I was leading an acupuncture clinic that specializes in fertility issues. Japan has been facing the fertility crisis. There are more fertility specialized clinics than in any other countries. The acupuncture clinic I used to work is located in the center of Yokohama city which is the second largest city in Japan with population of 3.8 millions. So, the clinic was very busy especially with clients with fertility issues. I spent intense 7 years there and gained a lot of experiences.
When I decided to open an acupuncture clinic in the Netherlands, I did not list fertility as one of my specialization. One reason is that the most of Dutch insurance packages cover the Western medical fertility treatments. Also, as of the moment my acupuncture treatment is not covered by Dutch insurances, because I am still in the process of registering myself to one of the Dutch acupuncture organization. Thus, I wasn't sure if there were any needs of it.
Yesterday at FloLab, I met Audrey from Nourish & Flourish. She is a qualified Nutritional Therapist who specializes in fertility issues. Talking with Audrey really inspired me. My passion was brought back and it made me write this article.
The main strategy of our acupuncture treatment for infertility would be to make smooth belly and back. There are many points on belly and back that reflect the condition of internal organs. This kind of palpation technique is one of the unique characteristics of Japanese acupuncture. I have learned several Japanese acupuncture styles and combine them for the best outcome.
Our acupuncture is also safe and effective treatment during pregnancy and post-labor as well. Many of my clients who successfully conceived babies continued regular sessions during their pregnancies or came back for post-labor treatments.
